Over the past 20 years, the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism has played a leading role in addressing fisheries issues and priorities on the international stage. In October 2022, Ministers announced the official anniversary celebrations and issued a statement. Here, 3 CRFM policymakers (Ministers from Belize, Jamaica & Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) partnered with the Minister of Fisheries (Norway) to boldly address the challenge of Illegal, Unregulated, and Unreported (IUU) Fishing and Transnational Organized Crime in the global fishing industry.
